Case of the Week #1

This 38 year old Realtor from Sun City, California came to see Dr. Pousti regarding improving her body. She had had 2 children, via cesarean section, and couldn't lose the excess skin and adipose tissue in the abdominal area. Her stomach muscles had stretched and sit-ups wouldn't help. Her breasts were sagging and she wanted them more "perky". She underwent breast augmentation, mastopexy (breast lifting) and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) surgery 2 months ago. She is extremely happy with her results.

She met with Dr. Pousti several times to go over the procedure in detail. With larger combination procedures, it is best to meet and discuss the potential risks and complications multiple times so that there are no surprises. Dr. Pousti will answer all questions that you may have. The patients who choose to perform multiple procedures at the same time do so for a couple of reasons:

1) If the patient has to take time off of work or get help at home for the kids, it is easier to do so one time instead of multiple times.

2) The cost is less when combining procedures versus performing the procedures individually.

3) The patient will undergo anesthesia one time.

The night before surgery, she came into the office for "markings". This is when Dr. Pousti takes about 30 minutes to an hour drawing on the patient and discussing where the incisions will be and how everything will be moved around. These markings are essential for a smooth surgery.

The morning of surgery, the patient shows up to the surgery center ready to go. She is both excited and nervous (which is normal). She is taken to the operating room and Dr. Pousti performs his magic. Dr. Pousti works with a group in the operating room that he has hand selected so that everyone knows the routine and so that there will be no surprises.

Now at 2 months out, the patient is extremely happy with her results and has allowed us to put her recovery progress on our web site.

I just had to write and tell you all how happy I am with my NEW body. As you know I had a tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation done in mid April. I have been a yo-yo dieter all of my adult life. Because of my weight loss, weight gain, weight loss and weight gain (well you get the picture) my body was a wreck! My breasts were VERY droopy and I had lost ALL of my volume. I was a very saggy D. I came home very excited and told my Husband I have found the one! My Husband was very supportive on the changes I wanted to make.

I went back for a second consultation armed with a list of questions to ask Dr. Pousti which he answered. He NEVER made me feel rushed. I talked with more patients and again they all looked great. I booked my surgery that day.

I had my surgery 10 weeks ago and I look and feel wonderful! I'm so happy with my results. I love my flat tummy and perky breasts, and so does my Husband.I'm thrilled with the whole experience I had with Dr. Pousti and his staff.
