I had breast implants 2 1/2 months ago. Before the surgery, I had lost a lot of breast tissue from birth control. I went from a size 34 full C to a 34 small B. Because I had lost so much tissue, my breast became very saggy. I saw several plastic surgeons in the San Diego area, before meeting Dr. Pousti.

After leaving the other plastic surgeons offices, I had always felt like I was just another $$. Some of them made comments like "I can do the surgery in under an hour!" That scared me immensely. I wasn't interested in a race, I wanted someone who would take their time and give me the result I was looking for.

Then I finally met Dr. Pousti. The first trip to his office, I was rather nervous and skeptical based on my previous experiences. I was greeted with smiling faces and by name! After speaking with Dr. Pousti, I was able to meet some of his patients who had already had the surgery. This was extremely helpful because I didn't just get to look at pictures of his work but I was also able to get first hand information on the procedure from beginning to end.

I was very surprised when I left his office for the first time, they thanked me for coming in and told me to feel free to come back as many times as I liked. WOW! I was expecting the phrase that I had gotten from every other office, "sign here and pick a date". I didn't feel pressured for one second at Dr. Pousti's office; instead I was given information on how to look for a credible surgeon in case I didn't decide to have my surgery done there. The office didn't want anyone to make the mistake of going to an un-certified surgeon.

At that point, I knew I had found the office that cared about me and not the $.

Through the next 3 weeks, I visited Dr. Pousti's office regularly, not only getting to know him and his wonderful staff, but also being able to meet more patients and felt more comfortable about the big step I was going to take. I felt like part of the Pousti family, and it was nice to know that he was getting to know me well enough to know what I wanted. Dr. Pousti actually cared about how I would feel about my breasts after the surgery, this was a great comfort. I knew I was in good hands.

I finally had the surgery, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I went from a small 34 B to a 34 D.

My main message for women that are considering this surgery; Check each surgeon out thoroughly; ask to speak with previous patients. Be extremely cautious with any surgeon who won't provide you with references, because there must be a reason. Also when searching for a surgeon, don't just look at the price, make sure that the surgeon cares about each of his patients and cares about the result they receive. Dr. Pousti is that surgeon.

Ever since I can remember, I've been jealous of the women on the sunny beaches in San Diego wearing triangle top bikinis. I always suffered with those horrible padded swimsuits I had to wring out because they were water logged after a swim. Eventually, I had had enough and decided to research my options.
Unlike most people, I was lucky enough to have my first consultation with Dr. Pousti. I spent several hours on the internet looking at before and after pictures of various plastic surgeons and was most impressed with Dr. Pousti's website and pictures. So, I decided to call Dr. Pousti's office for a consultation. I clearly remember the first question he asked me: Why are you interested in a breast augmentation? After my response, he made it clear that he approved of my reason and would not perform the procedure on anyone if the only reason they were considering implants was to impress their significant other. This was what sealed my decision to choose Dr. Pousti. He clearly had my best interests in mind, not only physically but emotionally as well.
After my initial consultation, I came back to his office on three occasions, speaking to other patients and bringing pictures of results I did and did not want. He kept them in a folder to take into the operating room with him, which helped reassure me. He also invited me back to the office at any time to ask questions of him and/or other patients.
The morning of the surgery, I was very impressed with the nurses. They were comforting and reassuring. When I woke up from the surgery, I instantly had a nurse by my side, and that night at home, Dr. Pousti called to check on me. How rare is that!
I have been back to Dr. Pousti's office since the surgery for check-ups and have always been greeted with a smile. At each appointment, I was told what to expect to feel and experience, which helped when I actually couldn't lift my arms too high or sit up on my own.

Now five months later, I am so excited to be able to wear triangle top bikinis! My husband and I even went to the Caribbean and I absolutely love our sunny beach pictures! I can, without a doubt, say that my decision to have breast augmentation with Dr. Pousti, is one of the best decisions I have made.

Ever since my son was born I knew that I wanted breast implants. Nursing for 2 years left me with what I would call “flapjacks”. My appearance is important to me; I worked hard to lose the pregnancy weight but was never satisfied because of my breasts.

Once the timing and money was right, I started to check out various plastic surgeons in the area. I went to preliminary consultations with 3 different doctors and was not impressed at all. They all said that I needed augmentation AND a lift, but not one actually sat down and spoke to me about any options or genuinely listened to my questions. None of the doctors I went to made me feel comfortable or at ease with the decision to have elective surgery. I was beginning to think that maybe I was being too sensitive and/or picky and that was just how plastic surgeons operated. Then I met Dr. Pousti…

I was referred to Dr. Pousti through a co-worker. He did her breast augmentation 2ish years ago and she is extremely happy with the results (I didn't even know she had implants, her breasts looked very natural.). I told her about the problems I was having with finding the right doctor and she just gave me Dr. Pousti's card and told me that my search was over. The next day I made an appointment and hoped she was right.

My consultation with Dr. Pousti was wonderful. He took the time to listen to me and I felt very comfortable with him. At first I said that I wanted a lift and augmentation (assuming the other doctors were correct) but when Pousti examined my breasts he told me that a lift would be going overboard and he wouldn't want to give me more scars than necessary. As soon as he said that I knew I found the right doctor. He cared more about the quality of the results and what I wanted to look like then making more money through additional surgery. He even talked to me about a negative outcome from the augmentation that he wanted me to consider. Since I didn't have much fatty tissue left in my breasts he explained to me that I would be able to feel the implant through the skin on the underside of my breasts. His honesty about the good and the bad possible outcomes just reassured even more that I had found my doctor. By the time the consultation was over I felt very informed and confident in Dr. Pousti and the procedure.

The surgery was easy; I was in and out in less than 4 hours. I don't really remember too much for a few days following the surgery. I wasn't in any pain, they make sure you have plenty painkillers to numb you up. I basically just slept and recuperated at my parent's house and enjoyed the mini-vacation from motherhood. Since you are unable to do much with your arms or the rest of your upper body I highly suggest to anyone who has small children to be away from them for at least the first week. It would be impossible to care for a child in the condition you would be in and probably not very safe either. I went home the second week and I had to be very careful in everything I did. I wasn't taking painkillers that week so everyday actions you wouldn't expect to be painful (like bending over to give my son juice) were a problem for a few days and I had to take it easy but by the 10 th day the pain had tapered off dramatically. It felt like I overdid a chest workout rather than underwent surgery.

Having breast augmentation was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Dr. Pousti gave me exactly what I wanted and I cannot express in words how happy I am with the results. I have always been confident in my appearance and I didn't get the surgery to boost my self-esteem, but I was surprised on how much sexier and feminine I feel with new breasts. Dr. Pousti is a true miracle worker, I know he truly cares about his patients and from the experiences I had with other plastic surgeons I'm pretty sure finding one that cares as much as Dr. Pousti would be virtually impossible. I will never forget Dr. Pousti, his nurses, or receptionists and I will always be thankful to them for their kindness and compassion.

My name is Ashley A. and I am from Oceanside Ca. I got my boobs done on November 22nd.

I got a breast augmentation in late November 2006. I had been thinking about this procedure for about 5 years. I hated looking for hours for a dress or shirt or swimsuit that I liked, only to find my boobs didn't fit in it right. I think the worst for me was when I was trying on my prom dress and even the push up bra didn't help. I was Barely a B on a good day. Last year after spending time after time in a shop getting gorgeous dresses altered to fit me, I decided that I would go ahead and pursue “the dream.” I spent about 6 months on line doing research, asking questions, all the usual stuff. A friend suggested I try Dr. Pousti and so I set up my consultation.

I remember going into the office and being a bit apprehensive, but the second I met Dr. Pousti I knew it was the right decision. He immediately put me at ease. Everything was very real and he was very down to earth. He made me feel so comfortable. He was also a wealth of information. I had questions about recovery time, scaring, and them looking fake. I expressed those concerns, and Dr. Pousti addressed each of them in turn. He explained in detail what he would do to help them to stay looking natural. That was a big deal for me.

I was truly amazed by the smallness of the incision. I had the procedure done under the muscle and through the areola. I expected the scar to be pretty big since we ended up going from my natural boobs to a very small D.

I also expected my boobs to look scary and bruised immediately following the surgery, but when he removed the bandages to check on them for my first check up, there was no visible bruising. Yes they were soar but visibly they just looked swollen.

Prior to recovery everybody told me what to expect, The boobs initially sit kind of high on your chest bone, the pain is like a bad bruise, but with pain meds, not a problem, and upper body movement is limited while tissue is healing. All in all not a big deal; I returned to light duty work a week later. Wearing the surgical bra for an extended period of time was more annoying than anything else, and when I got permission to take it off I did a little dance.

I have never been happier, Everybody comments on how nice they look, and feel J I went to the store the other night to try on my first “big girl” bra, I was so ecstatic that I could pick out the first bra I found rather than search for the right brand and the right size between an A and a B. I wore my formal last week, the one that needed the push up bra, I didn't wear a bra at all and I got so many comments on how nice it fit and how well my breasts looked. I was ok with the way I looked before, but now I am overjoyed. The benefits of this surgery far out weigh any fears that I had.

I am glad I finally did it. Thank you Dr. Pousti.

I had my breast augmentation surgery going on 11 months now and couldn't be happier with the results. Ever since having my son 6 years ago, I've been wanting the procedure to not only get back the self esteem I lost, but to also help my overall appearance. When I came in for my consultation, you were not only very helpful in answering all my questions, but I also felt you were very honest which was important to me. Seeing other patients that just had the surgery was very helpful as well. I was amazed at how enthused they were and how good they felt after the surgery. I went home that night and discussed the procedure with my boyfriend and was so happy with my experience at your office, I called the next day to make the appointment for my surgery. I've wanted this for years so I thought why wait any longer. My surgery was scheduled for the following Friday (yes, 10 days later) and I was nervous and excited at the same time. I talked with my family and friends about it and they all supported me saying it my body and if its going to make me happy, then do it. So the morning of my surgery was a little nerve racking (I've never had surgery before), but the staff at the surgical center made me very comfortable and were attentive to my needs. I went home that afternoon and slept through the night and when you called the next day to check on me I thought WOW, what a very professional and caring guy! My recovery went smoothly with minimal pain and discomfort. I had someone at home to help take care of me and the things I couldn't and I would suggest anyone considering this surgery to do the same. I've never in my life been so excited to shop for clothes because now I feel I can wear anything with confidence. I have gotten many compliments on my breasts as well and my self esteem has gone up more than I thought it ever would. I couldn't thank you and your staff enough for the great experience!!

This is beautiful 45 year old women from the area of Lakeside California , who just had Breast Augmentation surgery three months ago after researching this procedure for twenty years. The patient did some serious amount of work in researching the procedure because she wanted to feel more comfortable about breast augmentation and she was looking for the right doctor. She searched on line, the reader and through newspapers. In the twenty years of research that she performed the patient met with fifteen different plastic surgeons. None of which she felt were capable of achieving her expectations or recommended a procedure that was too invasive for her and that's not what she was really looking for. After breast feeding her son for six months the shape and size of the breast changed by loosing volume and perkiness. She was looking to be perkier and fuller but still natural. Because of the different recommendations and opinions she received like the Donut lift, full anchor lift along with augmentation both that involved additional scarring the patient felt like she needed to give it some time before she had any breast surgery.

Going online is when the patient encountered Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Tom Pousti web site. On the web site she was able to find out that Dr. Pousti is a Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and in Reconstructive surgery. On her initial consultation she was able to address her concerns to the doctor and wanted to know how realistic it was to avoid the Lift and the scarring that it applies but still have a perky result with breast augmentation surgery only. Dr. Pousti knowledge and years of experience came to the conclusion that this was a boarder line situation and gave the patient two options Breast Augmentation with Mastopexy to get the perkiness she wanted or Breast augmentation only and help by giving her a slight lift. How it is that its determined which procedure is the best indicated for the patient is knowing each person's individuality and their expectations. The patient was able to see lots of before and after pictures of both procedures. She felt good to have Found pictures of patients similar to her unique situation understanding that mechanically by going with an augmentation only she would achieve a slight of a lift and still be happy. The patient came in for her second visit with Dr. Pousti to finalize decisions and procedure. The patient didn't feel comfortable with the scars that a Breast lift involved so she decided she wanted to ahead and schedule her Breast Augmentation surgery.

The patient and Dr. Pousti meet in the office for the pre-op visit where they talk about size and to planed procedure. All the questions are answered and more pictures are brought in of what the patient liked as far as shape and size.

The morning of surgery the patient is excited and ready to see the doctor once again to talk about any last minute thoughts before going in to the operating room.

The patient is very happy with her results and is happy to share her experience.

I had my breast augmentation 3 months ago, I am feeling great and I cannot believe the results I got in the end. I am a mom of two kids, I breast fed both so that totally ruined any kind of breasts I had after kids. I waited 4 years after my last child was born to begin looking into having a breast augmentation. I was unsure about the risks of surgery and all that could happen but one day I decided that enough was enough, I had so much breast tissue I would hate for my husband to even touch them so I decided to start looking for a plastic surgeon. I went to several Dr.'s and had many, many, consultations but I never felt comfortable with any of the Doctors, I rarely received calls back on questions or even just a warm smile from the office staff. So I stopped looking for a Dr. for a few months and decided to go back on line and research some more. I came across Dr. Pousti's web-site and said ok this one has to be it or I don't know what I'm going to do. The office staff was very professional and kind on the phone, and even more so when I went in for my consultation.

When I met Dr. Pousti he didn't make me feel rushed, he took his time answering questions and he didn't seem like he had to be somewhere else even with a full waiting room. He just made me feel comfortable. I did not hesitate to schedule me surgery as soon as I could. I had me surgery about a month after my consultation and the day of surgery was great, I was nervous but feeling good everyone at the surgery center were reassuring and wonderful. When I awoke from surgery I felt good, and I was ready to go home, on the way Dr. Pousti called me on the phone to check how I was feeling, I couldn't believe it that just shows what a great Dr. he really is, he really cares about his patients.

The first couple of days were a little challenging for me, I didn't have any pain, I just couldn't handle not doing anything but resting. I went to my post op appointment a few days later and I finally got to see my breasts without the bandage, I was so excited and I couldn't believe that they didn't look bruised and the incision was so tiny. My only complaint was wearing the surgery bra but it was well worth it. I can't thank Dr. Pousti enough for his talent and for being such a warm caring person, he has given me more confidence and I will never forget it. All of the ladies in his office really are wonderful; together they are a great team helping people.

When I first came to Dr. Pousti for a consultation, I had few expectations. First, I expected to be a candidate for breast augmentation. Secondly, I expected to be treated well. Lastly, I expected great results.

Because of my small size and frame, Dr. Pousti first told me that I was not a candidate for saline breast augmentation. However, I was a candidate for silicone implants. I felt nervous at first since silicone was not fully approved yet. But after doing extensive research and seeking Dr. Pousti's personal opinion, I went ahead with the silicone gel implants.

As for my expectation of being treated well…there is no other doctor in all of San Diego who could make me feel more beautiful inside and out, as Dr. Pousti did. He has always been respectful and gentle and makes me feel like I'm the only patient in the world that matters.

Now, about these great results! I am so thoroughly pleased with my silicone gel implants! They feel and look so natural that my friends can't believe I've had breast augmentation. My husband has noticed that I am much more confident in myself now and I feel like I don't have anymore “hang-ups” about my body.

If the “boobie fairy” has passed up any girls out there (which I'm sure she has!) then I strongly suggest talking to Dr. Pousti about silicone gel implants. I feel I made the best choice with the help of Dr. Pousti and his wonderful staff. Thanks everyone!
