Dr. James N. Romanelli entered private practice in cosmetic surgery on Long Island in 1990 after completing a total of 8 years of surgical residencies in New York City and Houston, Texas. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and an active member of both the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

His Long Island plastic surgery practice offers skilled, compassionate staff members who help patients through their consultation, procedure, recovery, and beyond. Dr. Romanelli prides himself on being able to take time with each patient and provide them with the personal attention they need. Dr. Romanelli is chief of surgery at Huntington Hospital on Long Island. Plastic surgery is his specialty, but he is also skilled in general surgical procedures, and is a member of the American College of Surgeons Applicant Committee and has served as an inspector for the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. Dr. Romanelli graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Downstate, where he was immersed in general medicine principles and began to learn advanced surgical techniques.

After graduation, Dr. Romanelli trained in plastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine under the guidance of the inventors of the modern breast implant, Dr. Frank Gerow and Dr. Thomas Cronin. While there, he performed dozens of silicone and saline breast implant surgeries, as well as breast reconstruction using breast implants, and TRAM (“tummy tuck”) Flaps. He is one of the few plastic surgeons on Long Island who has experience with prior generations of silicone implants. Currently, he offers a number of options for women considering breast enlargement on Long Island, including FDA-approved fourth generation silicone implants, saline implants, and form stable, or “gummy bear,” silicone implants that are currently undergoing clinical study. During their consultations, patients can discuss with Dr. Romanelli which options are right for them.

Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery on Long Island also offers a full range of plastic surgery procedures, including facelift, rhinoplasty, body lift, and breast reduction. Long Island men and women of all ages come to the practice for cosmetic improvements that will enhance their look and feel. The office is fully accredited and equipped to handle overnight patient stays under the care of a private duty nurse. The practice is located in Huntington, New York, a short drive from Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and many towns on Long Island.

Our office surgical facility is fully authorized by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities to administer all levels of anesthesia, including local anesthesia, sedative, and general anesthesia. This means Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery can offer you the most appropriate level of anesthesia for your treatment. Anesthesia services are provided in our office surgical suite by board-certified physician anesthesiologists.
