Breast enhancementBreast enhancement surgery allows women the freedom to seek a breast size or shape that is personally more appealing and fits their overall body shape and proportion. With the availability of new generation cohesive gel silicone breast implants (“gummy bear” implants) and short scar methods for breast reductions, the options for women have increased greatly. We are very proud to use implants from Mentor that are made in the USA.
Dr. Magassy is experienced in the latest techniques in breast enhancement, and whether he performs a breast lift, breast enlargement/augmentation, or a combination of procedures, his goal is to first understand the individual desires of the patient and then tailor the procedure to meet those needs.
Breast Augmentation
For the woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small, or not properly contoured, cosmetic breast enhancement can be the answer. Breast enhancement can balance a difference in breast size and improve the body contour.
Dr. Magassy will consult with you to discuss your desired goal, and how to go about obtaining it. He will then prescribe the most effective technique to achieve positive results. This will include selecting the appropriate size in proportion to your body contour and determining the amount of scarring that you could have after surgery.
Breast Lift
Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag.Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts, at least, for a time. (No surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity.) Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume, for example, after pregnancy, breast implants inserted in conjunction with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size.

In choosing a plastic surgeon, it is important to know that all “certification” credentials are not equal. It is theoretically possible for any doctor—including one with virtually no surgical experience—to obtain a “board certification” in cosmetic surgery in a short period of time. By contrast, certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery requires a physician to complete residencies in both general and plastic surgery, practice plastic surgery for at least two years, pass exhaustive written and oral examinations, and adhere to a strict code of ethics. In fact, ABPS is the only certifying board of plastic surgery recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, the organization supported by the American Medical Association to certify specialists. ABPS certification is a credential with meaning. Dr. Magassy is one of 48 plastic surgeons in the United States that is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and The American Board of Surgery.
Originally from Hungary, Dr. Magassy received his medical training in the United States. He completed his residency in surgery at the Washington Hospital Center, and in plastic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
