Exclamation 3 months post up pain.

Hi there, I need advice!!! Im going on 3 months post up and last week I started to have pain on my right boob. It is under the areola incision deep. It is painful to touch! Every day it is worse! I went to by GP and she drew some labs to see if I have an infection, I have not received those results yet, also on thursday I'll be getting an ultrasound.
Up untill last week everything was fine.
I was 34 B before not 34D with silicone 450cc implants.

pain

Hi. Have you discussed this with your plastic surgeon? I would start there rather than your family doctor. Sometimes low grade infections will not show up on lab tests and an examination by your plastic surgeon is very important. Any plastic surgeon should see you right away if you complain about pain - specially three month out from surgery. There are some infections that do not present themselves for months. It could be suture related or possbily an implant infection. I would contact your plastic surgeon as soon as possible. Any testing should be under your PS's direction. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you...I actually did see my family doc and had lab tests done that were all negative. I'm still awaiting my ultrasound results. That same day I did see my plastic surg. he does not think it is anything serious. He thinks its the tunnel that he made to place my silicone implant throught the areola that is healing and the sutures. He did take pics and told me to come back if it gets worse, and if not that in 4 weeks so we can comapre the pic and changes in the shape. He did say that at that time he might put me on asthma meds, since they did show possitive effect on prevention of capsular c.
Let's just wait and see than...what do you think, does that sound like a good plan from what he said?

treatment plan

As long as you are under the care of your plastic surgeon and there is frequent follow-ups, then you should catch any serious issue in time. Unfortunately it is difficult to comment on the treatment plan without a full evaluation which your own surgeon has done. Capsular contracture can happen early and the medication he is putting you on is off-lable use for contracture. It does have some side effects which you should discuss with your surgeon prior to taking it for the 3-6mo that you usually need. As long as your symptoms are improving, then the treatment plan is helping. If the symptoms are persistent or worsening, then I would recommend seeing your surgeon again. I hope you are getting better.
