Question re:The Major breast muscle

Hello Dr. Blau...
Thank you very much for being here for us, Your time is greatly appreciated!
I have already had my BA (3 of them).
My question is to do with the anatomy and breast muscle!
Is there an average or normal size or thickness to the major breast muscle or is this based upon whether or not this muscle is used (eg, trained with exercise)... Why do I ask such a strange question? There seems to be alot of mixed opinions - as whether or not a women loses a % of volume by having breast implants under/behind the muscle...My curiosity would love an answer when possible.
Thanking you in advance , bebby...

I use to be a Clinical Instructor in the Anatomy Lab at the New York College of Medicine, and therefore my knowledge of the Human Anatomy is good . The pectoralis muscle thickness is different in each individual. For example in Body builders and Athletes it is much thicker compared to people that do not take care of their physique. In addition when the implant is placed under the pectoralis muscle it is being well isolated from the breast tissue and the thickness of the muscle plus the breast tissue act as a cushion and therefore the breasts feel more natural. The total breast volume(size) increase is slightly less when the implant is placed under the pectoralis muscle in comparison to placement above the muscle. I hope I answered your question.

Dr Blau, Thank you so very much for you detailed and straight forward answer...
I knew I chose the correct Doctor to answer my question, I am satisfied in now knowing the answer!
When possible to answer I do have another question regarding the pec...
If I have 695cc silicone HP round ( size 32F) under the muscle and I am presently one of those "do not take care of their physique" women but wanting to start...When the muscle is now increased will I keep the shape and size of my breasts or will the shape change and the muscle will "flatten or squash" my implants creating a smaller looking bust line? I have had to have 3 BA´s before finally getting to a size that I am reasonably happy with, and when possible do not want to look smaller - this is why I ask!
Wishing you a wonderful day. Dr. Blau..

Dear Bebby,
I wish there was a simple answer to your question but there is not.
Unfortunately it is not as predictable as we would like it to be.
As you know good physique has many advantages,so it is well worthwhile to go to the gym.

Dear Doctor Blau...
should it turn out to be that the dreaded boobie greed doesn´t release me and I do decide to increase my size (once again). How big would too big be for me! I would be considering up to 1000cc......
I am 38 years old , 5´4 and currently weigh around 127lbs , pre BA A-cup,with 3 breastfed children and had now 3 BA´s ...
the avatar is me with 695cc (2 or 3 finger spaces cleavage) and nearly no sideboob...
Thanking you once again ...

The decision has to be yours. You want to increase your breast by 1/3 and it may be too much. You have to be examined by an experienced PS for an advice. The skin laxity is important and the final body proportion.
