Chronic Infection

Hi, I am 34, non-smoker, excellent health. 5'7" 125. I received implants in Dec 2004. Round, smooth, Mentor, saline 425cc. Several months afterwards, I had a root canal and my left boob got tender, warm to the touch, and something was obviously wrong. I got antibotics from my doctor and it got better. Ever since then, I have had problems with that left boob off-and-on. I've had a variety of strange symptoms since that time, like night sweats, fatigue, etc. Not constantly, but off-and-on. I've received a battery of tests by infectious disease doctors, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, etc. They have been able to diagnose nothing.

Pretty much every time I have dental work, the problem flares up again. But sometimes the symptoms appear for a while, even if I haven't had dental work.

Have never had any problem with the right one (as far as I can tell).

Both right and left look fine. No capsular contracture. Both nice and soft.

I love my implants and don't want to give them up. But I don't want to suffer these symptoms any more, and I don't want to risk my health.

Should I:
1. Go on some super-strong antibiotics for a long while, in the hopes of killing the infection permanently?
2. Get the left one removed, wait a few months, and then have a new implant?
3. Get both removed, wait a few months, and then get new ones?
4. Or will the problem just come back again, in which case I should get them removed permanently and just give up on implants?

Please help!
