![]() | Massage and bruising
Will massaging cause bruising to worsen? I have a lot of brusing .Could it lead to a hemotoma? I am just wondering what your opinion is on massage.. They normally begin 1 week post op. but the clinic will be closed due to the holidays so I am going tomorrow. Also, is there anything I can do to help the bruising heal quicker? I am already taking anica (sp??) My surgery was Dec. 18th (saline unders transax).Thanks.

There is nothing to speed up recovery or decrease bruising. Arnica montana is not clinically proven at this point, but there does not appear to be any downside. I do not have my patients massage. I am unaware of any data that show massaging will increase bruising or lead to a hematoma
