How alarming is an infection from internal stitches?

I am spitting out my internal stitches and have developed abscesses around at least two of them on my right areola incision. I had a donut lift and breast augmentation 6 weeks ago. I have redness, which extends about 1 inch, and warmth in the area. The nurse put me on Cipro and said come back in Monday to see the doc and they may do a culture then. It is draining a little pus and serous fluid now. I am applying bacitracin ointment. I have no fever or chills. Does this put me at higher risk for cc or any other problems?

Well, this is no way to say in your case. In general stitch infections are not much of a problem. Hopefully your surgeon closed the tissue in layers and what is going on at the surface will not affect the implant. Unless your breast was red and you had a fever and were feeling sick, it is likely limited to just the sutures. It is not uncommon and resolves in almost all cases.
