Lift 4yrs after BA???

Dr. Hueneke,

I had a breast augmentation(under the muscle) 4 years ago and am currently a 36DD(36C before). I am only 23 years old and do not have the young and perky breasts I imagined. Sagging preBA was present, but very little, but in the past 4 yrs I have noticed a great change in the amount they sag now. I had discussed the sagging I had with my PS during my consultation for my breast augmentation and he said I did not need a lift. Measuring from my sternal notch to each nipple is now 11 inches. I have not had excessive weight gain or loss over these past 4 years.

One of my biggest concerns is that I have not had any children. I plan to, but not for at least 5 years. I did not know if I should wait until after having children or not. My other concern is whether or not my lift would be able to be done without the anchor scarring.

I'm hoping my PS will work with me on the pricing of this, seeing that I had expressed a concern with sagging before and he advised me not to. Would that be an unreasonable expectation I have since it has been 4 years?

Thank you in advance for your response.

The first issue is whether or not to have a breast lift now. If you want to improve breast position, then you would need to know that your breasts may change a lot with pregnancy (with or without breast feeding). Performing a breast lift on young patients is not an easy decision. At 11 inches, you would likely need a vertical (lollipop) or standard (anchor shaped) lift. I could not say without seeing you. Considering the size of your breasts pre-breast augmentation and your current size it is not surprising you have some drooping. Going to a DD does come with consequences. Since I am not party to any of the discussions you have had with your PS, I cannot say what is reasonable with respect to charges.
