Are my bigger silicones smaller than my old salines?
I really don't know what to do. I think my surgeon is great. 3 and a half years ago I had my saline's put in after breast feeding 2 kids. They were filled to 275. It made me a large B or even a little bigger.
After having breast feeding my third baby things were still looking good but I decided to go with the silicons and to get them a little bigger. My hubby liked the size they had grown to during the breast feeding period and I had a few little stretch marks so I figured I would fill them out. My surgeon recommended 325's and we moved forward. When I awoke from my surgery, I looked down and immediately asked if I had the new implants in. My restraining bra doesn't even feel tight and after a couple days at home I believe they are a little smaller than before. My husband called my doctor Friday on our way home but he assured him that in the space available we couldn't have gone any bigger. I just don't believe it! They looked better before this surgery and when I was feeding my youngest they were enormous, so I know a bigger size would fit. I go to see him tomorrow afternoon, but I don't know what to say. All day yesterday I kept thinking they might have used the wrong size. LITERALLY. I haven't taken an after picture yet, and I don't know if that's allowed here. I have some just before the surgery I could post with them. Any advise is greatly appreciated! I am truly unhappy and I don't know what to do. I realized while registering for this forum there were options (like tear drop shapes and textures, as well as hybrid saline/silicone implants I was not made aware of before). Thanks! |

Without seeing you, it is hard to comment. A 50cc increase is really very small. The silicone implants have a smaller projection or height than saline. Volume is volume and you truly are bigger even though it may not seem that way. I would discuss this with your surgeon although unfortunately you are looking at another surgery if you want to go bigger.

Oh I am glad you explained the projection thing Dr. Hueneke. I also just switched from 360 cc saline to 400 cc silicone. I wanted to stay about the same size and left the cc thing up to my PS....Although I am happy with them because they are softer and feel and look more natural, they definetely seem smaller. I am only 1 week post op. and I tried on a dress I've worn pre-op and my breasts did not fill it out nearly as well. If I use a push up bra it will help fill it out but it was really disturbing to have a size that seems smaller!
