leaking breast, just got BA 7 days ago, pls help

hello, i just recently got my BA done on july 24th. i went for my post op apt today and everything was fine. there was just a little redness on the incision under the right breast. he told me to keep my eye on it and keep taking my antibotics. it is about a 2 hour drive, so when i left the clinic and was about 30 minutes away from home. i felt soaked. i check my right side of my shirt and sure enough i was covered in wet discharge. i looked in the mirror and saw that my incision was leaking. im not sure what to do. i have cohesive gel implants which dont leak. my right breast still looks and feels the same and the other. im really worried. can someone help? thanks

Your implant is not leaking, but it seems you have a problem. After surgery a small amount of fluid is present around the implant. This is eventually absorbed. If the incision does not stay together, then this fluid can leak out. When the amount of fluid is more, then I am worried soemthing else is going on. What may be happening is an infection is occuring which has weakened the incision and produced more fluid. Although there may not be any pus or thick drainage, I feel this is sometimes why this happens. Regardless, if fluid is coming out, then there is a way for bacteria to get in. This is an uncommon problem and there are varied theories and management styles. You need to see your surgeon today. Keep me posted.
