Dental problems w/ new implants

Just 19 days PO, my teeth are killing me. Is it safe to go to the dentist now? I'm either going to need a root canal or extraction. If there is an infection, will this affect my BA? Thanks

You should ask your surgeon for advice. I can tell you there is no study that indicates antibiotics are needed when having a dental procedure. There are a few case reports where infections or hardening occurred following dental work or cleaning. Considering the 250,000 patients per year (that could be 3 or 4 million women with implants) all getting dental work 1-3 times a year. One would think if a connection existed we would know. I would tell my patient however having dental surgery so close to the initial surgery that anitibiotics in that case would be wise.
