Dr. Kearney,
Do you have any thoughts on the timing of a BA after ending breastfeeding? I am scheduled to have a BA 2 months after stopping breastfeeding. I consulted with several different doctors, and none of them expressed concern about the timing; however, I have learned from this board that some doctors will not perform surgery so soon after stopping. I'm interested in your opinion.

i know this is the doctor's section.. but i am in the SAME boat as you... my PS told me he can do my BA 3 months after stopping breast feeding... just so ya know! HTH

You should wait until your breasts have returned to "normal". If you are not getting a lift it doesn't matter too much one way or the other except that you won't have a sense about your size post surgery as your breasts will continue to shrink. I never operate on a woman who is having a lift plus implants following breast feeding until I am sure they have stabilized as it may change how much skin I remove.
