![]() | Help! Infection??
I had a submuscular breast augmentation on 5/21/09. 340cc's ( both sides ) Mentor HP saline. Areola incision. My right side has consistently been slightly larger ( not much, but slightly ) and more painful than my left from Day 1. About a week and a half ago, I noticed a stitch was "out" on my nipple. This past Saturday, it started to get red, hot and swollen around the stitch. By Sunday, I contacted a friend of mine who is a nurse, and she advised me to take antibiotics ( I had some Cipro at home ). By Sunday night, it really hurt, and I squeezed the side and got a lot of infection out. I was at my PS office first thing Monday morning, and he said it was a stitch absess. He snipped the stitch, and sent me on my way. On Wednesday, I started feeling horrible. Body aches, fever...not at all myself. I had a refill on my Kephlex from surgery, so I started taking that. The area around my incision is perfect, no swelling or redness at all. However, on Tuesday, I developed what can only be described as a large pimple on the lower half of that breast ( far from the incision ). It was really large and painful, so I lanced it. The infection from that did not seem to completely go away and heal. It still looks "open". Could this be related? My fever is down today, but I still feel horrible. I am due to see my PS tomorrow morning, but I am nervous as to what he will say!! Could I be rejecting the implant? Could I have a pocket infection? I really appreciate your help!! |
