![]() | To lift or not to lift?
Hi there Dr. Kearney, (I have made my pics public for you to review) I had my breast augmentation back in March 2008, 480cc saline, complete unders, crease incision. As you can see in my before pic, I was quite deflated and had quite a bit of extra skin, although PS did not recommend a lift due to my nips sitting centered still. I trusted his opinion, although from day one I was never thrilled with my results. My left is low, has a major crease (flopping over, I'd fail the pencil test, lol) and an odd shape/slope. However, PS states that my right never dropped where it should be and should be like the left. Even though I prefer the shape of the right, I can feel the tissue he pointed out at the bottom that indicates it is sitting a bit too high. They both seem to look like the implant is just pooling up at the bottom if that makes sense (rock in a sock?). I went to a 2nd opinion and was told I would need an anchor lift, pocket work, and possibly slightly smaller silicone implants to get the look I was going for. I asked for a natural yet perky look. So I'd have a decent slope, but would still be able to go braless when the outfit called for it. My original PS is about 6 hours away, and through communication through email and pics, he does not believe I need a lift and should move up to 600cc implants in order to fill it out more up top, which I have stated I am not interested in doing. I would like to have your opinion. In going for a perky, natural look, would you recommend a lift? Thanks for your time!

One of the PS is really wrong. Those are two opposite extremes. If when you turn to the side the nipple is above the fold under your breast then most likely you don't need a lift. If it is at or below the fold then you do need a lift. Bigger implants are seldom the answer to a sagging breast and in the long run I believe are bad for your overall appearance. They do tend to pull things down over time especially when place above the muscle. I can look at your photos but you would need to send them to info@kearneymd.com. Dr. Kearney |

Thank you. Thanks for your time, I may go ahead and do that. I certainly don't want even LARGER sagging breasts LOL!
