Not dropping

How long should I wait before I get concerned that my implants have not dropped. I am 7 weeks out and I'm worried the pocket is not large enough for the implant to drop. If not would this be something that my surgeon should be responsible for since he is at fault. If this is the case what can be done to fix the problem? Please help thanks so much. I am so concerned because I have 3-4" of hanging skin where the implant is not filling out the bottom part of my breasts. Thanks

You have to wait at least three months before being certain that they have not settled. In terms of fault, 2% of implants do not settle into the pocket as we would like. In my practice when this happens I do not charge the patient a surgeons fee but they are responsible for the operating room fee and anesthesia fee which in San Diego is about $1400. Some surgeons charge a nominal fee because they have previously operated on you - you would just need to see what your PS policy is on that one. I never do a revision for asymmetry before three months because doing it sooner than that could open you up for yet another surgery.
