![]() | Under Muscle Placement and Some Questions...
Hi Dr. Kearney, I just had some questions about implants and their placement. I've read all over this site how some women have partial submuscular and complete submuscular. Is there a reason for there being two different ways? Or is this something that would depend on my anatomy? If that is not the case is there one that has more advantages over the other? I have not had a breast augmentation yet, nor have I met with any surgeons. I am currently a deflated 34D due to a lot of weight loss. I was just wondering what under muscle placement would be best for me. And would you recommend a lift? My main concern is that post augmentation I will still be saggy, which is something I definitely DO NOT want! I do have photos if that would help... Thank you for your time and advice. Haley |

I would be happy to look at your photos but you need to send them to info@kearneymd.com. If your nipple has fallen below the fold then you will need a lift. The kind of lift or the extent of the scars involved depends upon what kind of lift you need - that is how much skin you need taken out. In terms of implant placment there is not such thing as total muscle coverage, I put most of my implants under the muscle which some PS like to call dual plane - it is the norm. I look forward to seeing your photos at which time i can answer the question better about the lift. Dr. Kearney |

I was also a deflated D (dd actually) ![]() I am 3 weeks post-op and I had a breast lift (lollipop) and augmentation I went with 330 saline moderate profile. I was hoping to go to a small D large C At this point my ps tells me I am still swollen (10%) and I am still a DD although I do fit into my bras much better, before I was tight in my bra. I am very happy with the results. |
