Modified Belly Button Approach
A doctor here in California, who specializes in the TUBA procedure, offered me a modified umbilial approach. In order to have silicone the doctor would add the imlants through the crease at the end of the procedure. He said the TUBA in general has a faster healing time, and less trama involved. In your opinion, is it a good idea to have the TUBA, and also two crease scars. Does the Modified umbilical approach make sense?

I am not a plastic surgeon, but I have no idea what the benefits are of tuba (modified or not) if you will end up with crease scars regardless. If the surgeon is not putting the implants in through the incision in the bellybutton (can only be done with saline implants) than I do not see any reason whatsoever that he would need to go in through your bellybutton if he will actually be placing the silicone implants through your creases.
I don't see why he would make the pockets via tuba and then create additional scars to place the implants when he could have just started at the crease anyways. If you have seen a video of the tuba procedure (youtube) you will see that there is quite a bit of trauma involved as the surgeon must use a long tube and force it through your tissues up to where he creates the pocket. Many patients also have abdominal pain and bruising after surgery. I am not against the tuba approach, however if i was already going to have crease scars, I would prefer to just have the entire procedure done from the crease and not put more trauma on my body by having any part of the procedure done through TUBA.

Girls, let's keep it civil and wait what the good doctor has to say. If you've got facts, questions or info to add do feel free to contribute, but we don't want a public lynching here. (Edit, this is referring to a few posts that were deleted, not necessarily all of them and certainly not to any of the posts visible in this thread now.)
