![]() | Frustrated and uneven in fullness "drop"
Help! I am so frustrated...Im finally in tears. My plastic surgeon said one breats was bigger than the other. Since I had silicone implants the size jumped in 25 ccs. He felt my rt was bigger, so he placed a 350cc implant on the rt. And a 375cc implant on my lft. At first they looked great now the lft is lower, fuller, and firmer. And for my rt i is softer and smaller in its projection. Ironically the rt was the bigger one. Last week in a visit I was told my rt needs to drop more. I am only 4 weeks out, I know it is also a waiting game. but when i put on a blouse the rt is noticeably different and smaller. Is 25cc a radical difference.... when it .3cm in diameter .1 cm in projection? I know its so small, but it feels like a huge difference now . My shirt shows the biggest difference. The ps kept telling me my areola and shape were different i understood that part from my breast augmentation pictures however the projection is very different. Thank you. I just have been in tears I thought this was supposed to be exciting and everyday that passes im more fustrated. How do you tella surgeon who does a ton of these things what your seeing and feeling is off? In the pictures its not that evident or maybe it is now my lft is bigger than than the original difference. now the lft is bigger. I do realize some ppls rt drops at a slower pace or vice versa. but most my swelling has gone down, now im left with two different size boobs. |

Not to mention. I expressed my concerns to him and he turned around and was rude and abrasive. In no way comforting, give it time, nothing, he said its a ten and I could get 5 to 10 other surgeons that this is the best result you could receive for asymmetry.

Dear pinup22: Thank you for your inquiry. First let me reassure you. The results that you have at four weeks are not the final results. It takes a full year for the breast to settle down. The first thing to do is take a deep breath and give you body time to heal. Second 25 cc is a small difference. If you were looking at a 350 and a 375 cc implant, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Now add the volume of your own breast and the percentage difference is even smaller. Third, breast are rarely the same, and by rarely I mean never. For my patients with small discrepancies in size I recommend using the same sized implants on both sides. If it was not bothersome before surgery, it will not be bothersome after surgery. With time the breast tissue naturally atrophies and the small differences get smaller. For patients with small differences who receive a smaller implant on the larger side, it is not unusual for the breast that was smaller to appear larger. If it is from swelling, this can improve. If it is a situation that initially looks fine and then (over a year) the smaller side looks bigger, it is likely to persist. This is very hard to explain to patients before surgery. The most important thing is to trust your surgeon. If you are seeing a qualified Board Certified Plastic Surgeon you are both probably frustrated at this point. Don't give up. Give it time. Allow your body to heal. Keep you appointments. If you are frustrated, it may be worthwhile paying for a second opinion, and bring your before pictures with you. A second opinion will not be vested in the results, but unless something unusual is occurring, will likely want to give you time to heal. I can't provide you with any specific advice, but I hope that this may help.
