Bottom of Implant sits lower than the other

Dr. Mele

Here I am seeking your opinion once again! I've scheduled a follow up appointment with my PS next week but my mind is spinning with concern. Please bare with me.

I fear that I have bottomed out or that my implant was placed too low on my chest. My nipples are symetrical with each other but the bottom of the implant in my right breast sits at least 1 inch lower than the left breast. The incision is literally sitting on the actual breast not in the fold or close as the left. I've looked at pictures and it looks like I've bottomed out but the nipples are in alignment with my left breast. Can I still bottom out without the nipples pointing up? It almost looks like the right breast implant has slid lower than the left causing the incision to not fall into the fold.

I feel like either my PS did not put the incision in the correct place or I have bottomed out. My left is the complete opposite, it's rounding out very nicely.

I know you will not have much input because you have not seen me but your words of experience would help me. I am in the bay area and depending on what my PS says on Tuesday, I will be giving your office a call for a second opinion. Thank you for reading this long posting. I thank you for your time in advance.

Breast Asymmetry

Dear cubanita:

Hang in there. It is good that you have an appointment next week. Go over your concerns and review the photos with your Plastic Surgeon. Review the starting point and where you are now.

It is important to see if you are at a stable point in recovery. In other words, are your breast done recovering? Are they still changing? It is hard to make a plan to predictably correct a problem that is still changing.

As far as incision placement goes. I think there is an advantage to having the scar a little above the inframmary fold. If you are wearing a bikini and it creeps up, the scar is still hidden. If the scar is right in the fold, it may be more visible.

Good luck on Tuesday.

Thank you Dr. Mele for your response, I was anxiously waiting for your response!

My left incision is actually just a tad higher than my fold and as it drops it's starting to "hide" the incision. It's completely the oppposite on my right though, the incision is there in your face as you look at the breast, it's a good 2 inches up from the fold. It is actually difficult to picture my breast eventually covering the incision.

Hopefully my PS will give me insight on what is happening. Sometimes I feel like ignorance is bliss, perhaps I shouldn't have done all this research and try to self diagnose

Thanks again for your time and your words, I appreciate it ALOT.
