![]() | Dent and size difference
Good morning, I had a breast lift 2 years ago and a breast augmentation 1 year later. I noticed a severe dent under the right breast. I thought maybe it was caused by scar tissue. My PS said that it is not scar tissue, it is from the lift. Where the tissue is anchored? I didn't quite understand it. Does this make sense? He does want to do a revision. He is talking about taking a bit more skin from the breast as he feels he should have taken a bit more, and putting some fat into the dent. I have heard that injecting fat will not work as it disolves. What would you recommend? Also, my left breast appears higher, smaller, and does not have as much tissue on the underside. Although it looks this way, my right breast is actually the smaller breast. It looks to me like maybe the left breast did not drop into the pocket. The left breast does have a little different shape than the right. It is more narrow and the crease is a bit higher, but it still doesn't look quite right to me. My PS has offered to do a revision, but I'm not sure what needs to be done. I have put pictures in my public profile. Could you please give me your opinion? Thank you |

Dear Arianna: Thank you for your question. Forums are great for sharing general information about procedures, but are not the best place to learn what surgery is right for you. You are asking a very specific question, about a problem that cannot be explained by pictures. It really needs to be felt to give me an idea of what is going on and how best to provide a safe and reliable correction. Fat grafting is not always the most reliable way to add volume to a scarred area, but I do not have the benefit of your plastic surgeons knowledge of what was done for you in the past and how you have healed. Sometimes rotating the local tissues into that area works better, but it is a clinical decision. If what your plastic surgeon is telling you does not make sense, ask them to explain it. While you may not understand all the nuance, you should be comfortable about what is being offered and why it is necessary. The benefits and the risks should be clearly understood before proceeding. If you are seeking a second opinion, in this case you should see another plastic surgeon in person to get the best opinion.
