![]() | Muscle Flex - what are the fixes?
Dear PS, I've been told that 'muscle flex' only affects women with unders, and that it can be fixed by loosening the muscle, which means having a small surgery. What other solutions are out there to correct muscle flex? And, why does it generally occur in one breast and not both breasts? Thanks, Ginny. |

I have it...never heard of anything that would fix the problem other then getting overs instead. I have it in both. Not that bad...I like flexing to make my husband squirm...LOL

Dear Ginny: All implants placed behind the pectoralis muscle move to some extent if the implant is soft. When the muscle contracts, it pulls the implant up and out, and compresses the implant against the chest wall. When implants are in front of the muscle, the implant is not compressed and there is no movement or compression. For my patients how are bodybuilders, and who are posing on stage, I place the implants in front of the muscle. This way the strong pectoralis muscle doesn't move the implant (and distract the judges). Surgery can sometimes decrease the movement and compression, but as long as the implant is soft and the muscle is working, there will be some changes with contraction. Moving the implant in front of the muscle will stop the changes with flexion, but may look worse the rest of the time. The firmer, gummi-bear, implants may provide some benefits in this area. Here's hoping the reach the market sooner than later.

Thanks Doc, I have silicone textured and have muscle flex in the right breast. The left has a little muscle flex, but very minimal. The right however is clearly restricted. I wonder what can be done, or is being done to avoid the more severe cases of muscle flex? Thanks again, Ginny, |
