![]() | Switching from 550 hp to 900hp
Hello Dr. Pelletiere, I am currently 4 mos post-op and dissapointed with size; I was talking cup size with my ps, and I know that's relative person to person, instead of showing photos. I went in for a post op yesterday and brought photos and mentioned a redo. My ps is very conservative and tried to talk me out of it, citing all the complications that could arise. I agreed to think it over some more and wait until I'm 6 mos to decide. My bwd is 12, and my ps said double bubble is likely, as well as symmastia. In your professional opinion, will the chances of these developing be the same as my 550s, or do I have a much greater chance? Thank you for your time. |

Just chiming in. Sorry dr P. Not trying to be rude. I think you look amazing and should give it some time to settle and soften. You ,may be surprised on what a 550 gives you. I have 550 and went from a 34b to a 34f or 36dd.. Happy healing..

Certainly the larger you increase the size, even with a HP implant, the wider it gets and the more it will expand the medial and lateral areas. If your BWD is only 12, then this would be a substantial increase in width from the 550cc HP. Certainly the risks go up for complications - not necessarily double bubble, but more prominent rippling over time, more ptosis or sagging over time with the increased weight, potential for medial pressure resulting in symmastia. It is you surgeons job to really figure out what your body can hold before the risks go up, and the 550cc may be that size. After that, then you have to be really ready to deal with the things that may happen as you up in size that much. I would wait another two months and reassess at the 6 month mark. At that time, if you still want to go bigger, really discuss it with your surgeon, but also listen to what he/ she is saying about the complications, becuase they do go up substantially with the larger implants.
