Question Lift Adivice

Hello!! I had my breast augmentation in Jan 09 and a revision for bottoming out on one side in june 09, now that I am even and my breast look nice except the are too low they defintaly are sagging. My PS was aware of this due to the fact that I was borderline lift.. We talked about a lollipop lift with the orginal surgery but he opted no in the OR.. He still says we can do this at any time and now that I have settled over 6 mos the outcome is more precise??? Is that true??

How is a lift done with existing implants is that a bad idea????? Can it be done in an office setting?? How much smaller does it make you??

It is true that the lift will be more precise when you have had the implants for awhile. That does not mean that you cannot do the lift and augmentation in the same setting, it just means that some surgeons like to break in to two separate surgeries, depending on their comfort level with the techniques, patient, etc. When you already have the implants, the lift is an easier thing to do. Think of the lift as really a skin operation - you are just tailoring the skin around the nipple/areola/breast. Removing the excess skin and freeing the skin up allows the nipple areola to move upward, and the skin to be tightened around it. There is usually very little dissection into the breast tissue so having implants underneath, even if they are in the subglandular plane, does not cause a problem. This can easily be done in an office operating room with sedation, or even local anesthesia alone if someone wants to - it really just depends on the comfort level of you and your surgeon. In terms of size, it will not make you that much smaller. In reality, you are not taking away breast tissue, so your size will be the same. But, they might look a little smaller since they will not sag as much and will sit a little higher on your chest.

You are welcome! The lift definetely makes a difference if the breast tissue is hanging off the implant. But, if you are happy, then it is really just up to you. At this point, there is no rush. You can have the lift at any time should you decide.
