![]() | Overfill and CCs
I posted this in the main forum and also was hoping for an expert opinion. Im confused on the whole overfill thing. Im having my breast augmentation on aug 24th and told my ps that i want to go between 325 and 350 ccs- from what i saw with the sizers. He said he would use a mentor saline implant size 275 and overfill it at least 50 ccs. Would this make me the size I want? I read other places that final fill, as my dr calls it, does not change the size of the implant? Im very confused by this! Thank you in advance!

With saline implants, you always want to overfill them to some extent, otherwise they will have some folds in the implant. It is not unusual to put in a 275cc and fill it to 300cc or more. In your situation, it really depends on the base diameter of your breast, and what size will fit well in that space. You do not want something too wide for your breast, but you also do not want something too narrow, otherwise it will make you look like you have a larger space between the breasts. If you are shooting for the 350cc range, then I would usually recommend a 325cc implant and fill it to 350cc. A 275cc filled to 350cc will make that implant pretty firm and actually decrease the width of the implant. Talk with your surgeon and see what will fit well in there based on the diameter of your breasts. Once that is established, then the fill amount can be determined. I hope this helps.
