downsizing and lift

Hello Dr. Pelletiere:

I will be downsizing and will probably need a lift. I started out a 36b/c and with Inamed 450cc saline implants (13.4 x 4.5) I am now a small 36DD. I’m very short and the size is big but mostly I feel like the implants are too wide for my body. My upper torso is all breasts. Also, my right implant sits about 1/2 lower than the left and the right implant falls into my armpit. If I go with smaller implants Inamed 330 cc (12.3 x 4.2) do you think my left pocket will also need suturing? As to the lift, does a benelli lift decrease the projection? Does a vertical lift remove tissue or just skin? Thank you!

Dr. Pelletiere will become famous soon enough
If you are decreasing by about 100cc, there is a chance that both sides might need some internal suturing to decrease the pocket to some degree. However, with a lift, sometimes you do not need to tighten the pocket itself - the lift does it for you. Some women do lose a small amount of projection with a benelli lift, but not all. With any type of lift, you can remove some breast tissue if needed. Sometimes you need to remove a little so that the closure of the lift is not too tight. This is why some women appear slightly smaller after undergoing a lift - the combination of skin removal, raising the breast up some, and a little tissue excised all come into play.
