![]() | BWD question - thank you
Dear Dr. Pelletiere, My BWD was originally measured at 14 and 14.5, pre breast augmentation. My PS told me that meant I could have implants 12.0-12.5, maximum. So I went with 12.3. All ok, no problems. Now I am having a re-do (same PS, he did a great job the first time, I just hate the projection) and he is suggesting (when I say suggesting, I mean, restricting me to) a Mentor, smooth, round 375cc HP, 12.0. What I would LIKE to have is a Mentor Mod+ or an Inspira (allergan) Mod+ 375cc implant. These are 12.8 and 13.0 - and he refuses to let me have either choice. Should I follow his advice (and he IS a good surgeon) or seek another PS that will give me the implant that I want? Surely if my BWD was 14, I can fit these wider implants? Many thanks for your time. |

I agree that you can fit those wider implants. Usually the BWD is the maximum I want a patients to go before the risks of rippling, etc. go up. Either of those implants you mentioned would do a good job, and would not be too wide if you are 14cm right now. I would discuss it with your surgeon, and if he does not agree, then a second opinion may not be a bad thing.
