Is it okay to take diet pills up to day of BA?

Hello!
I have my revision breast augmentation in 9 days and work and go to school full time so I usually take Atro-Phex (a diet pill with caffeine, guarana, all that other stuff they put in diet pills to keep you up) to stay awake throughout the day (only average 4 hours of sleep/night on these days). I also take Alli (fat absorption blocker). Should I stop taking these before my breast augmentation? I know I should ask my PS but I am in Germany and am not sure if they will understand what the pills are that I am taking (I will ask anyway but I wanted an opinion of someone who may know already what I am talking about). Thanks for your help!

Hi!

I was advised to take nothing of herbs, including any type of diet pills for 2 weeks prior to breast augmentation. Since there are bleeding risks with some herbs, its safe to just not take any type of herbs, teas or diet pills prior to breast augmentation for at least 2 weeks.

In addition, I was advised no garlic, asprin, teas, alcohol, smoking, herbs and of course diet pills.

Nooooo. You need to stop taking them. Your ps should give you a list of things you can take & cant take. I know there is even food you can eat & cant eat. Better to be safe then sorry. To always be on the safe side call your ps office & make sure.

You should DEFINITELY stop taking them now! You prob should have stopped taking all that around 14 days pre-op.

Yes, it is a good idea to stop taking all of those things. The Alli may inerfere with the absorption of your antibiotiocs, pain medications, etc., and the extra caffeine in the other pills can lead to extra bleeding due to elevated heart rate. I would stop taking these at least a week before if you can. I hope this helps.
