Lipo swelling

I had lipo of the U/L Abs and Flanks with my breast augmentation 5 days ago. I have large mounds of swelling on my low back. They stick out really far. I can feel it when I am laying on my back. I can feel fluid when I push on my stomach, but am not leaking anymore. How will the fluid be eliminated from my stomach/back if the incisions have closed? Is it normal to have large mounds of swelling. I thought the swelling would be more uniform. I only had a little amount of fat taken out and wear a size 4 jean. I can't fit into my old pants. Do you have any idea when I will have some relief? Is this normal?

Yes, but I don't think it is tight enough. My pubic area is so swollen and black and blue. I can feel a bunch of fluid everywhere. I am just wondering if it is normal to have large irregular bumps of swelling. My low back looks like I have something growing out of it.

I had lipo on my abs and flanks with my breast augmentation two and a half weeks ago and I am just beginning to notice a little less swelling. I don't think I had as much swelling as you, but I was surprised by how much I had. I was also unable to fit into my regular jeans until just the last couple days. I did some reading on the subject (guess I should have done more research before?) and most sites said that swelling for three to six MONTHS was not uncommon so I am waiting it out and trying to be patient. I can already tell that my stomach is flatter and I'm hoping my flanks still have a lot to go down - I'll be thrilled not to have that bit of flab hanging over my jeans!!

The swelling is normal, although it is a little unusual to have isolated areas that are bulging. Usually the swelling is more of a diffuse swelling everywhere the lipo was done, not in an isolated area. It is normal to be black and blue, and it is normal for the pubic region to really really swell, as well as become bruised. This is because it is the lowest dependent position that fluid can track down into. You want your compression garment to be tight - tight enough that you struggle to get it on. I would wear good compression, and if the swelling in your back has not gone down in the next week, definetely see your surgeon. The fluid gets reabsorbed by your body in most cases, but sometimes it forms a space where it just wants to sit. It is rare, but sometimes you need to drain some of the fluid with a needle if it has formed an isolated pocket.
