Hi Dr. Chris. Hope this post finds you doing well. Wanted to touch base with you. I'm about 9 weeks PO revision. About a week ago it looks like maybe righty is trying to creep up again. Occasionally I wear my strap and when I wear it over night it appears to be positioned correctly in the morning. It's soft but slightly uneven. I can deal with it like this but what can I do to keep it in this position and why in the h*ll does t want to creep up?? It's not a CC, even though there was a CC on that side, a severe one at that...you already know. I know occasionally I have an achey feeling but may be from massaging aggressively?? I have kept paper tape on the right scar too trying to flatten it out. Massaging it isn't working and its puckering inward more and more each day. I haven't looked at it since I put the tape on about 2-3 weeks ago. Is the tape ok, think it will help??? I tried emailing you but something is wrong...not sure if it's on my end or yours....Thanks!! AKA Nichole from Portland, Indiana

I am not sure why the emails did not go through since they have been working on our end. The fact that it settles down after wearing the strap an night leads me to think that it is your pec just wanting to pull it p sometimes, just like we thought before. That side is so active with your pec flexing, that it just wants to pull it up sometimes. Use the strap as you need to at night. Massaging is fine, but do not hurt yourself doing it. The tape is ok for the scar - it may take a year before we decide about the scar itself. There isnt much you can do about it right now. We just need to watch it and see where it is in another few months.

To be honest, it is hard to say. I hope with time that it will just relax. One of the things you can try is injecting botox into the muscle to help it relax. I do this occasionally on breast reconstruction patients to help relax their pec muscles during the reconstruction process. Lets give it some time, but if it keeps happening, then this may be an option to try.
