![]() | Can implants go into naturally joined breasts?
Hiya! I have 36C natural boobies (never had implants, lift etc) that in a bra look great but not as good without so I was condisering going a little bigger, higher & fuller. (Like maybe adding upto 330CC.) And now that I've made the decision to go ahead I have realised I have what might be a BIG problem! I have always laughed that my boobs are joined together in the middle. I have a good cleavage but it is very shallow (I always thought it looked a bit like a bum). The skin depth in between my boobs is probably just under a third of my projection. It is almost like they are webbed together. Now, that sounds gross.... but to look at me you cant really tell cos they are squashed together so much that you cant see the joiny bit. So trust me I dont look wierd or anything. I've looked all over this site for info but the closest thing I can find to my problem is symmastia but that appears to be a prob caused by implants and I dont have any.......yet! And they dont look that strange..... yet! Will adding an implant either over or under force the joined skin back or bring it forward? And would it make getting symmastia more likely as my boobs arent 2 seperate pockets? Hope you can help!!! Can attach pics if you need. Last edited by juggernauts; 04-26-2009 at 02:30 AM. ok so to get this right are you saying you have symmastia, naturally? i have never heard of this before, if you require symmastia repair your ps can do this during your surgery but i think it can be quite pricey if you had pics that would help us understand ur problem xo

hi hunni i was right you do have symmastia i honestly have never heard of this occuring naturally but luckily there are pleanty of great ps' out there that specialize in symmastia repair i will however set you back more than just the cost of implants, exactly how much im not sure it will also affect the size and profile of implant you can get if you post a thread about symmastia repair surgeons im sure there are lots of girls who can give u the name of their surgeons dont feel embarrased sweetie trust me most of us started with boobies that were less than perfect, personally i was very far from perfect lol wish u all the best and cant wait to hear how things go for you!

Well I'm glad you guys have seen it and agree that it's odd! I was trying to say I think I have natural symmastia but cos no one has heard of it, no one believed me! do you think that if I had smallish overs (like 300cc) they would just lift and fill out a bit and just be a bit rounder? Spose it's hard to guess if no one has ever seen any start off joined! |

you really need to have symmastia repair work done if you just put an implant in no matter what size or placment its just going to make things worse and more noticable

![]() | Natural synmastia
Good afternoon, Natural synmastia can definitely occur and basically means there is an excess of subcutaneous/fatty tissue that extends over the sternum (breastbone) in the cleavage area with no clear space between the breasts. Typically when you bend over you also see the skin pull away and hang between the breasts away from the sternum. I use a combination approach to this problem- ultrasonic liposuction to thin the area out in the midline (to make room for the repair) followed by the Internal Bra repair with permanent sutures. This can be performed at the time of your original operation. Hope this helps! Don Revis, MD www.InternalBra.com |
