Revision

I Recently Had My BA (July 2009). I've Had Problems With Slight Tenting (Symmastia) && Bottoming Out.

I've Seen My Surgeon, And She Suggests 2 Things.

1.) Switching From Unders To Overs?

OR

2.) Going In And Stitching Up The Pockets?

My Question Would Be...

Which Do You Suggest? Also, When Switching From Unders To Overs..Will This Fix The Symmastia/Bottoming Out??

Thank You In Advance For Your Reply

Synmastia & Bottoming Out

Good afternoon,

In two words- bad idea

Switching from unders to overs will not correct the synmastia, will increase your risk of capsular contracture, decrease the quality of your mammograms, and make it more likely to feel or see rippling.

The correct procedure is the internal bra- see www.InternalBra.com for more details. This is a permanent suture technique I use to treat both bottoming out and synmastia. It is also the most common revision I perform, about 2-3 times each week.

Best Wishes,
Don Revis, MD
