reinforcing the crease?

Hello,
I had my breast augmentation on May 27, 2009. My implants were placed via the crease incision and are 325 mod+ silicone by mentor. I am 5'6" 115lbs with a 27in ribcage. Three days after my surgery, I went in for a post-op appointment. My surgeon examined me, asked me some questions, and mentioned I might notice a little bit of puckering or pulling at the incision site because he reinforced my creases with a couple dissolvable sutures along the incision to the underlying muscle during the surgery. He said the puckering would go away once the sutures dissolved. He never mentioned doing this at any of my pre-op appointments but the way he explained it made it sound like it was a good thing to have. I didn't think much about it because it sounded like it decreased my risk of bottoming out by giving me a little extra support while healing. Then today, my friend went for a breast augmentation consultation with a different doctor and when she told her PS about this (she was wondering if the same could be done for her since she is similar in size to me), he told her that what she was explaining is not common practice and posibly ligaments were damaged during my surgery or some other complication? I have an appointment with my PS in a week and a half, I plan to ask him more about this but I can't seem to find anything on the internet about reinforcing creases UNLESS a patient has bottomed out and is getting corrective surgery. I would hope that if something had gone wrong during my surgery, he would have told me but after hearing what this other surgeon told my friend, I don't know what to think.

I would just ask him if he commonly does this on all of his patients or why he felt it needed to be done on you. You should tell him you have done some online research and do not see this described as common practice. It is not a common thing during primary breast augmentation.
