Your opinion please

Hi I've just had my left pocket released because my last implant did not drop and as well had an exchange from hp's to mods+ of only 60cc's. During my procedure my PS placed 3 sutures above the left implant to prevent it from riding up again and advised me to wear the strap for 23hrs/day for a month. Since day 1 my breasts are soft and sitting where I think they should be. They don't look like I have any dropping or fluffing to do (you can see my pics in my profile)
My question to you is can I risk making my breast too low or bottom out if I wear my band too long? My surgeon doesn't put the strap on most pts (nor does he believe in massage) so I'm not confident when he tells me that I shouldn't worry about it when I asked him this question. He seems really worried that the sutures won't hold up and the implant going back to where it was for 4months. How often does this occur? Do you think I should wear the strap that long? What about an underwire bra while wearing the strap? How will I know that its okay to stop wearing the strap? I'd love to hear back from you. I really don't want that implant to ride back up nor do I want to risk bottoming out or having my breasts too low.

The quick and easy answer to this question is "listen to your surgeon as he knows better than anyone else in the world what he did, what your pocket looked like, how your tissue reacts, etc..." That being said, since you asked the question I will give my 2 cents. The band should not be pushing so hard on the implants as to make the implants bottom out. It should be used to close off the upper pocket where you had the problem and keep the implant from moving around. Bands are often used to push down an implant. This should not be why you are using it. It should not be position to push down hard on the implant but to close off the top above the implant and thus keep the implant from riding up. The stitches in a pocket above the implant at 6 months are not very strong. The capsule is weak at 6 months and needs to be protected. This is why your surgeon is worried about those sutures. I would also say do not massage at this point. The benefits are outweighed by the risk in your case. This is not to say in a few months you should not massage but I am a strong massage believer. I myself might keep you in an underwire but once again I would not go against your surgeon's instructions without knowing you are making a decision against what he said to do. I would clearly discuss this with him to find out if he has a reason for telling you not to use one at this point. Well, I hope I didn't confuse you more. I would tell you that we all do things different. Different surgical techniques require different postop management. This is why I would listen to your doc or at least make your choices after understanding his instructions. Good luck!

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions and for being so detailed and informative in your answers. As I've been cleared to wear underwire bras I will wear one while wearing the strap like described since your rationale makes perfect sense to me. Thanks again.
