post op strap

In your opinion do you believe that the effectiveness of the post op strap used to help push implants down diminish the longer you wait to use it after surgery?

I'm asking because my plastic surgeon is on vacation and I saw the nurse today for my 2 week post op. She thought I was a bit high and gave me the strap to wear. I would prefer to wait for my surgeon to see me and confirm if its really a good idea before I start wearing it but my next appt isn't until 6 weeks post op. I just dont know if 6 weeks post op would render the strap "useless" if indeed I should be using it.

Hope my question makes sense.

thanks

I think that if your surgeon's office is recommending this, it probably is a good thing. 6 weeks from now you will be pushing against more formed scar tissue than you have now. I doubt your surgeon is away for 6 weeks so if you need a sooner appointment asked to be seen (for this reason to discuss the strap) as soon as he gets back.
