![]() | Are pockets visible from the outside?
Hello Dr. Sorokin, Approximately 8 weeks ago, I had my 25 year old, 430cc double lumen implants replaced with Natrelle silicone 340cc's. I also had a crescent lift. The right side had completely ruptured and needed a lot of work to get all of the pieces of the shell out of my muscle. The rupture had remained for about 7 years due to finances & just thinking it was cc. My pockets were lowered before placing the new implants. After 8 weeks, the right side has not dropped like the left side has. (My PS said that the muscle memory has pulled it up where it was before surgery). I understand that dropping can take time. My question is that if I lift each breast up, I can see the outline of the pocket, externally, where the implant falls into on the left side. On the right, I cannot see that same expansion, but if I push down hard on it, it looks a bit more like the left, but not quite as low. Does this mean the right pocket is higher than the left, or could it mean that the pocket is in the right place and the tissue just has to let go to accomodate it and at that point it will be visible like the left side. I'm wondering if I would see some sign of a pocket even though the implant hasn't fallen into it yet. I hope I explained this well to you. I thank you for your time. |

If you are looking at the base when you push down on the implant and see this level and the implant is mobile at 8 weeks you are likely looking at the bottom edge of the pocket like you are saying. I would interpret it as the bottom of the right pocket being higher than the left. Of course, without an exam it is impossible to say....
