Hello,

Would you suggest getting a mammogram before a BA?

I plan to get a BA done some time in January 2009. As of now I plan to get Saline and Overs (because of my sagging).

What is the age that women are required to get a mammogram?

I am 35 years old.

I usually advise my female patients of any age to get a baseline mammogram if they have a family or personal history of breast cancer prior to undergoing BA. If there is no family history, I generally get a baseline mammogram in women over 30 (and even younger if the patient or a family member desires the study). The American Cancer Society recommends mammograms for screening for breast cancer in women 40 and over whether or not you have implants. So, if you were under my care I would recommend a baseline mammogram.
