About a month and a half ago, I had implants put in under the muscle, as well as a breast lift. This was to fix a previous BA where the implants were done over the muscle & through the armpit, and the surgeon misjudged the bottom of my breasts, so the implants bottomed out the 1st time.
However, even though under the muscle is supposed to stop implants from bottoming out, mine are already doing just that. I'm just curious, is it completly unheard of for unders to bottom out, and is there any way to fix it other than going under the knife for a 3rd time? Because my surgeon said he'd never heard of it happening... |

My unders bottomed out twice and I am now 15days post op. He changed my implants from smooth to textured and went over the muscle due to the pocket under being way too stretched out both down and towards my armpits.
Hopefully they hold this time - i dunno what im going to do if they don't!

Bottoming out
It is not unheard of at all. Bottoming out can occur in overs and unders, and is usually dependent upon your own tissues and their inherent elasticity or laxity, the size of the implant used, the technique in pocket dissection and if the IMF was lowered or not, and the distance from your nipple to inframammary crease. In my opinion, women who get large subglandular implants tend to bottom out more easily and more quickly than those who go with smaller sized implants placed in a defined pocket under the muscle. That being said, a lot of it has to do with one's own anatomy, laxity of skin, and thickness of tissues.
