Choosing my own size - need advice
Dr. Walden,
I live in Guam and am going to the Phillipines for my BA. I have met with and selected my dr, however he is leaving it up to me to choose my implants and just wants to know what to order. I am 5'4, 135, currently 34A maybe less. I want a conservative increase to around a B+. I am a scuba instructor and so wear swimsuits and tank tops all the time. I am also a runner so I don't want big. How important is the base diameter? My current diameter is 12cc, so should I choose an implant close to that? A little more or less? The ones I am looking at are: Siltex Mentor Cohesive Mod profile 250cc, 11.5cm, 3.3cm 275cc, 12.4cm, 3.4cm Inamed Text Silicone Mod profile 240cc, 11.7cm, 2.9cm 270cc 12.3cm 3.0cm Any advise would be appreciated. My advice would be for you to return to your plastic surgeon that you have picked out and ask him to guide you in the process of implant selection since he is the one who has examined you. Although I respect any PS that informs his or her patient and empowers them in the decision-making process, he or she should also understand that you need a professional opinion so that you do not have to query folks online who have never examined your anatomy and made measurements in person. Base diameter, among a whole host of other factors, are important in deciding upon a specific implant size and type. If your PS is unable or unwilling to give you any guidance and puts the decision entirely upon you, then I would seriously consider seeking a second opinion.
