2 months out, still no period

Hi Dr. Walden!! Thanks for your time..

Tomorrow is my 2 month post op mark, and I still have not gotten a period. My last period ended the day before my surgery, July 22. I know the trauma from surgery and anesthesia can mess up your body and cycle, but is this normal? My period has NEVER been consistent and does tend to skip a month or two if I get very stressed out. Just a little concerned....I didn't think it would be 2 months. I feel completely normal, other than that. I am getting cramps - a couple times last week I Thought I was getting it, but still nothing.

Thanks again!

Missed Period

You are right that the physiologic stress of surgery and anesthesia can sometimes throw off our cycle, but if it's been 2 months and no sign of anything I would think about performing a pregnancy test to rule that out and possibly consulting with your Ob-Gyn.

Good luck!
Dr Walden
