![]() | Average Swelling Post BA
Hi Dr. Walden- I was curious to find out what the average was when it comes to post op swelling? One Cup Size, Two? Does it depend on the patient? I am going to see my ps tomorrow and asking him the same, but had my breast augmentation friday and am extremely distressed bc i look huge and that was not the look i wanted at all. He gave me 390cc's for my request of a full c (my stats are 5'4 1/2, 126 lbs, and a regular 36 b after a reduction from a 36f 4 years ago), HP Unders I believe. Naturally I know it is not ethical for you to answer with your opinion, but I have been extremely upset and am just so embarrassed to even leave me house right now. I am sorry to unload all these stresses in this little thread, but i am just very unhappy. |

![]() | Swelling after BA
I would say the normal amount of swelling is up to a cup size. Swelling varies from case to case and really just makes the breast look a bit firm and higher and not great deal bigger. Implants also tend to ride a little high and make the breast shape look a bit different then how it will look in a month. If you were to experience unilateral or bilateral swelling that was painful, bruised or much bigger than what you noticed postop, then you would want to report to your plastic surgeon immediately in case of a possible hematoma (or blood collection around the implant).
