Natural Tenting...should I avoid Implants?

Hi Dr. Wallach,
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I noticed that although my natural cleavage is no longer tenting without a bra (due to weight loss), with the right push up bra, the cleavage area does tent a bit. I basically figured that my boobs are too wide for my ribcage (BWD is 13.5 when measured from the oblique because I have A LOT of side boob, and 12.75 from the front...with a 27inch rib cage). Is this tenting normal for natural boobs...or am I just an anomaly? Should this natural tenting be a concern that I should avoid implants? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all these questions.

If you naturally have tenting, a large implant may accentuate it

Thank you Dr. Wallach. I'll definitely take that into consideration. By a "large" implant, do you mean an implant that is over a certain amount of cc's (like over 400cc's?), or just significantly over the limit of my breast width? Thank you so much again!

I think both, larger implants often have wider diameters.

You should maybe look into HP implants because they are not as wide. Good-Luck!!

Yes, but as you go larger in HP they also increase in diameter( just not as much as the others)

Thanks Katalina and Dr. Wallach. Yeah I'm definitely going with the HP's. The question is just how large?? I am considering 500cc's, but then again, the diameter of that is 13.2, and my breast width (standing up) is ~12.75...so it goes over my natural breast width by a little (don't mind side boob though). I'm considering downsizing it to maybe 425cc HP (diameter 12.5) or 450cc HP(12.8) since it's close to my natural breast width. Does that sound safer than the 500cc? Or is 0.5cm over my breast width (the 500cc) not too much of a concern so long as the surgeon does not overdissect my pectoralis? Thanks!

I personally like to put in implants that are wider than the breast diameter. Most women I treat like the natural look of some breast projecting laterally a bit.

Yeah, me too. I like the little bit of side boob that I got with the 500cc's, and it really balanced out my figure. Is 0.5cm over my breast width anything to worry about?
