Bad incision closing
I have had a couple of implants put in and taken out.
My big questions is: When the PS is closing the crease incision, is it possible to stitch up the pectoral muscle when closing the incisions. I feel my pectoral muscle grabbing on one side when I raise my arm for about 2-3 months after surgery. My next question: I just had implants and capsule removal and PS did some internal stitching to lift me. The breast where I feel the pectoral muscle grabbing is still hurting at 5 weeks post op at the incision and up to the nipple and all around to the side under the arm. Some days are worse than others. The muscles on that side are stiff and breast feels funny at incision when I let it hang horizontally. Does it sound normal or not? www.justbreastimplants.com/DeWire/ Last edited by Nikki; 02-28-2008 at 02:20 AM. |

I can only speak for myself, but when I place implants "under the pec", the msucle is divided. I don't sew back the muscle to its insertion, because it can prevent the implant from sitting properlyin the pocket. Pain in the chest after surgery even 5 weeks out, can be normal. I would check with you surgeon.

Pectoral muscle sewed in by accident
I really meant to ask that is it possible that when closing up a crease incision that the pectoral muscle gets accidently stitched in also.
If it is possible what would it feel like to the person. When I extend my arm forward or move it suddenly I feel my incision grab down there and I feel pulling on it. I felt this the first time when I had my saline implants put behind the muscle. I first had silicone out in front. I felt the muscle grabbing and it felt like it was squeezing the implant hard, but I still have that feeling without implants. That is when I first got the idea of the muscle being accidently stitched up in my incision. Eventually the feeling did fade and I am hoping it will this time. I am 5 weeks post op from explantation and capsule removal with some internal stitching for a lift. Could the internal stitching be making the healing more difficult this time. www.justbreastimplants.com/DeWire/ Last edited by Nikki; 02-28-2008 at 02:21 AM. |

The internal stitching may bother you a bit more. It may feel like things are being pulled. All the sensations you describe are very common in the early( first few months) post-operative period. It is unlikely that the pec was stitched to yor incision.
