alcohol?

hi dr. wallach,

when is it okay to begin drinking alcohol again? with drinking alcohol increase the likelihood of an infection? im a little over 3 weeks out and my incision is still not closed all the way - i notice this because it still bleeds and oozes a tiny tiny bit (i think caused by my surgical bra irritating it). will drinking alcohol slow down the recovery process?

thanks in advance!

Having a casual glass of wine will probably be fine.

I had a couple of glasses of wine about 9 days out. No one really ever told me not to drink afterward so I just assumed that I should not drink much. I would think a casual drink or two would be ok.
