lowering the inframmary fold
Hi Doc! My Super Fabulous PS lowered my IMF on the left side due to ... well, I guess I don't know why. I think they were just uneven. Anyway, I know I still have dropping and fluffing to do, as I'm only at about 5weeks post BA, but my inquiry is regarding any ways I can help my skin/muscle/fascia stretch to accomodate the left implant. Righty is great, but the lefty still seems tight and has the crease indent from where the original fold was. So... at almost 6 weeks would wearing adhesive self-heating pads help? I have no bruising, stitches are out, etc. Also, what is the "average" difference in healing time? I know that patience is a vurtue, but if you have any thoughts on how I can help them (skin/muscle/fascia) STRETCH and accomodate my textured implant I would greatly appreciate it. I'm a dancer and need to get back to work!
Thanks! K |

There really is nothing I know of that will "stretch" the tissues out. Usually with smooth walled implants, the implant itself expands the area a bit and the tissues stretch. Usually textured implants dont drop much, if at all.

Thank you so much for your prompt response! Especially on a Sunday! I guess a better way of describing it would be that it's squished in pretty tight. The skin is tight, so to speak. I can see the new IMF crease when I push down on it. My PS had told me this might happen. He said that we could either wait and see if it works itself out, or do something that would involve a horizontal incision. Kind of wish I had done the latter but at the time excess scarring seemed more important. Guess maybe I just need to give it a little more time?

Thanks Doc! You Rock! Strangely enough a nurse at my PS office suggested a hand held vibrating neck massager to help loosen and relax the tissue. It seems to be helping...
