Should my PS fix this problem for free? Too large of a pocket

I see my PS again on Wednesday. I think the pocket on my left was made too large and my implant is moving around too much. I can really feel it shifting from side to side. It is going over to the side too much also. I am 7 weeks post op today and started feeling it do this about a week ago. Since he made the pocket, should he be responsible for fixing it? I don't think I should have to pay for his mistake. What do you think about this? I go to see him on Wednesday and want to know what I should be prepared for on Wednesday. Please give me your thoughts on this.

Wow your story is almost identical to what happend to me. My left implant moves around a lot too and when I lie down it falls to the side and it's such an uncomfortable feeling and I can feel it sliding down there and my right boob doesn't move so I'm totally lopsided when lying down. And it's so gross that I can see the implant moving underneath my skin into my side. but I was so concerned about this when I first started noticing it. In fact I was an emotional wreck. I made an appointment and my PS told me that this is the way they should look. It has dropped nicely and moves around alot and falls to the side just like a real boob does! I was like, well ok but is it supposed to hurt? And is it supposed to be uneven when I lay down? he pretty much just kept saying my boobs look great, they're healing perfectly, they'll never be perfectly even so I need to be happy with what i got...I was still pissed off and upset after I left because he wouldn't even admit the pocket was bigger on one side or anything like that. I even called him out on it that i think my implant is "laterally displaced" and that he overdissected the pocket but he kept denying and got pissed at me for criticizing his work lol. He also told me I'm still healing since it was only 1.5 months post op and so he made me another appointment for December to see if they look better then. Now I'm almost 3 months and nothing has changed but I've kind of gotten over the fact that one falls to the side. It's something that I'm just gonna have to deal with for now because I don't have the funding or time to fix it. It still bugs me and I doubt when I go back in he'll change his mind and admit the pocket is too big and fix it for me. I have a picture of me lying down if you wanna see it. You may have to FR me...But when you go in, just know your facts, and be prepared for your PS to deny that anything is wrong because they probably don't want ot deal with something like that because they see it as so minimal, which it is minimal, but when its your boobs, its a huge problem....

Nikki, I sent you a FR. Is that second one a picture of you laying down? Mine does that too and my right doesn't at all. It is such a strange and uncomfortable feeling to feel it move all around and slide to the side. I feel like i need it to be supported with a tight sports bra or something so it wont move around. I not only have this problem but also bad asymmetry too. My left is also much bigger than my right so I feel like a mess. I've already discussed the asymmetry issue with him and that didn't go too well, so I'm not expecting this to go any better. I feel like he won't want to fix this either. I feel like they have all the power and once they get our money we're pretty much screwed if something goes wrong.

I havent had mine put in but this would make me so upset... I think spending as much as we do for them, and waiting so long in life that when we finally do its a PS mistake... I def would speak with him, and at least put it out there you know so it doesnt go overlooked! hope it goes well!

Yea that 2nd one is me lying now. It drives me nuts and yes, I feel like I need support all the time on that side too! Especially when I sleep!! It's so frustrating... and I have symmetry problems too. my left hangs slightly lower than the right and the right is also smaller than the left. I told him pre op that they the one is bigger than the other but he told me that as soon as the implants are in, the difference in size is much less noticeable so he wouldn't put in 2 different sizes of implants...Too bad I notice it even more now!! grrr

And it's true, once they have your money they kick you out the door!! I wish I would have done more research and gone to more consultations and found a surgeon who would have had my back and taken care of me if he made a mistake. I thought my PS was like that but apparantly not...My PS is in Newport by fashion island, Dr. Gaon.

I do like my boobs though, I know I can't expect perfection and I've accepted that they're slightly uneven but it's not that horrible and I can live with it...at least for now. You may still be in the healing process though? How many weeks post op are you? They may even out more after they're done dropping. Each day I feel like mine get a little better and more even. I'm barely 3 months post op so it's still early!!

hey guys, i'm new to this site but reading this i can't even tell you how weird it is because the same exact thing happened to me - when i lied down on my back my left breast slid into my armpit, but my right side was tight and perfect and stayed in place. When i followed up with my PS he said the pocket was too large and I had some lateral bottoming out.

Mind you, this is in addition to full blown bottoming out of both breasts down the chest wall. I'm guessing this is why he had no problem admitting to this, since i needed repair anyway. However, just for the internal bra (which is required for both lateral and downwards bottoming out) i was quoted $4,000. It is true, once they have our money that's it, they don't care anymore. I felt so taken advantage of and was really depressed.

I ended up going to see another surgeon and just got my internal bra done Tuesday, and I'm really sore. However, just keep in mind the lateral bottoming out really isn't that noticable except when you're lying down - you can still have beautiful breasts otherwise. Feel good about the fact that your body is much closer to how you envisioned it being before you got your breast augmentation.

If i only had the lateral sliding, i might have been ok with leaving it alone, but i can't say for sure. we're all different, but one thing is for sure - how distressing it can all be. but i understand very well how upsetting the whole situation feels, and wish you both the best.

When your implants have excessive movement upwards or to the sides, it's very possible it's caused by over-dissection of the pocket(s). Speaking of ethics, yes, I think it should be repaired free of charge. Will surgeons do it? Probably. However, whether or not they eat the cost of anesthesia is tricky.

For say, bottoming out - that's more likely the result of bad bad luck than it is surgical error, it can happen to anyone, really. A lot of surgeons will correct that free but with you covering anesthesia costs. I do think that is fair.

Having that said, it's going to vary by surgeon how they handle things. If they expected you to pay full cost, I'd be very weary to let them touch me again.

My 2nd BA resulted in over-dissected pockets on both sides resulting in lateral displacement and a huge gap. When I lay down my boobs would slide into my armpits and the right was worse than the left. It slid so far that you could see the inside ridge of my sternum. It started out as a dull ache and within 2 months was quite painful if I took my bra off. My PS was willing to fix it at no charge but I chose to go to another surgeon who specialized in revision work. My thinking was that if he messed it up the first time - I did not want him touching me again. My revision surgeon did a fantastic job and it was worth every cent, for me, to get it done right.

I saw my ps last Wednesday and he won't admit it is lateral displacement or say that the pocket is too large. He just says that it is how my breasts are. I'm so completely upset about this and my other problems that I am starting to lose sleep over it. Besides the sliding to the side on my left breast, I also have really bad asymmetry. I am not wanting him to work on me again and want to see a different ps. I am 2 months post op and don't think my hubby will want to pay any more money on my boobs. I feel so stuck

too lateral breast pockets

I really wish there was a concrete answer regarding outcomes and what to expect. I had my implants placed in April and have always felt something wasn't just right. About 3 months ago I started researching the internet and definitely feel the pocket of my implant is too lateral. When I lay down they both migrate under my armpits and like several have stated I too had a lot of discomfort from this. I live in Texas and had my surgery in Oklahoma. I was very impressed with my consultation and proceeded quickly. Due to living outof state once I called and addresed this issue with staff I was immediately told to just send photo's for review. After close to 2 months I finally got a response where the email stated that the outcome was exactly what it should be. My PS proceeded to tell me that gravity would cause the implants to go to the side when laying down. Am I crazy or do women get implants to have cleavage and attractive breasts on their "chest" and not under their arms??????

This has caused me great anxiety. I am a nurse for 18 years now and I do not appreciate being belittled. Seriously? There is a huge difference in gravity causing breast tissue to relax to the side versus having an implant slip under your arm. I finally was able to get a scheduled follow up for this Friday so I am hoping that his email was just a routine answer not to incriminate himself in writing. I am willing to pay for anesthesia costs but feel that is all I should be expected to pay. However like someone stated I am extremely leary to allow a PS who "thinks this is normal" to do the repair. I totally feel like the ball is in their court and will be forced to accept what he says.

In some women, it's natural for the implant to fall further to the side. Much depends on your anatomy. I'm not saying that this is or isn't the case for you, just providing info. See http://www.advanced-art.com/Breast-Aug-Cleavage.htm and http://www.advanced-art.com/Breast-Aug-Cleavage-2.htm.

I think I have the same problem but I don't know how far to the side is abnormal. my right is defiantly more then the left and I can see my implant moving and falling off to the side. When it's completely fallen it's about three inches from where I can see my natural breast start. I'm 2mo post and noticed from day one that they were far to the sides. The right especially. I'm new to the site. How do I view your photos?
