Hi, I had my breast augmentation on September 21, 2006 (I'm in my 4th week post op). My breasts are "lowering" and look great, but I'm still having a lot of pain and both breasts are very firm and extremely tight. In fact, I still need to take pain meds. I'm wondering if having such a pain is normal and healing is just taking longer, or something is wrong? Appreciate any feedback. Eva |

I know everyone has different thresholds, but a month seems a rather long time to still be in pain. What did your PS say? And does he/she have you massaging?

I don't think you should be in any pain that would warrant pain meds at this point. If I were you, I'd check in with the PS.

Here is my deal. I had my breast augmentation on October 3rd. Awesome recovery, no pain and eerything went as planned. My left breast started hurtng after about 8 days ad continues to hurt with light touhes underneath or if I unzip my bra. Doesn't hurt constntly, only when lightly grazed or if I turn my head over my right shoulder. I can massage them both fine and my rightie is like nothing ever happened. My PS has me on antibiotics still to avoid an infection but simply thinks it is healing differently than my right and is not worried at all about it although she is keeping a close eye on it (weekly visits). I am still taking Percocet every so often but mainly XS Tylenol and can't wait to tke Advil next week. Plus I really like the Percocet I think we all just heal differently |

to the forum sweetie and congrats on your breast augmentation. More than likely what you are experiencing are the nerves regenerating. I remember having "twinges" of pain off and on for the first couple of months along with my skin feeling sunburned. Don't worry, sounds normal during the healing process, but if you have true concerns please give your PS a call.

![]() | Breast Pain
Thanks Everyone for their feedback! I very much appreciate it! To add to my frustration and pain, yesterday I had some yellowish/milk like discharge from the right breast thru the incision site. I called the doctor...He said that during the operation, sometimes they have to cut through fat, and this 'lingering' fat is leaving the body in the form of the discharge I'm experiencing. What I think is INFECTION, and I'LL DEMAND ANTIBIOTICS. I do have my one month appointment tomorrow (I can't wait!!!) , so I'll see what he says tomorrow when he sees it. Eva |

Fat? I've never heard of such a thing. I had both nipple and crease incisions and my doc never said anything about fat having to come out. I think you are wise to follow your gut about this. Keep us posted as to what he says, if you don't like what he says please consider getting a second opinion. Good luck!

eszanto: I am only 3.5 weeks out and my incisions are completely healed ( closed I mean). so that would be a worry (the thing he called leaking fat, I would definitely get a 2nd opinion if he doesn't give you an RX for antibiotics and try to find out why you are having that so long after surgery ( it is long I think for incisions to be open). good luck sweetie... and welcome to the forum this is a wonderful group of ladies that all have so much support to give, and all varying in days pre and post breast augmentation, so almost any perspective you cxan think of someone probably is in it.... that you might need help with anyways.....

Hi Ladies, I went for my 1 month appointment last Friday. For my suprise, what is leaking (dropping) from my right breast is BREAST MILK. Apparently, the nerves got "messed up" during the surgery and milk is producing.... About the pain...My PS said, I belong to the small %'s of women who are hypersensitive to the surgery and the regeneration of the nerves take longer and more painful then usual (BTW.. my pain is getting much better since the weekend). I guess, the healing process varies for everybody. Eva |

Sorry to say but it can take some time for the pain to be completely gone. I was still in pain up to 4 months after my surgery. We all heal at different rates so it might take a little longer for you. I hope you feel better soon.
