![]() | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last year I had a c-section done and it got infected I had to lay in the hospital for two weeks I was so depressed I cryed the whole time i was in the hospital because i couldnt be with my new daughter. I know you didnt just give birth to a baby but i think the emotions are just the same...you do something and expect things to come out good and expect to be happy but then life throws you a curve ball and you wonder HOW FAIR IS THAT? Your going to get through this, you'll see. You will look back and with a sigh of relief! Just relax and let your body heal heal heal. When I was in the hospital the nurses told me i need to be positive. The mind is a powerful thing. If we feel like it's never going to get better, our bodies will take longer to heal. Take it easy and rest up. Try not messing with the breast and only look at it once in a while. We are here for you! |

Thank you. That was very encouraging. I remained positive through the first stitch removal. From the get-go Dr. Cohen was very reassuring that we could put the stitch back in once it had healed up. Then, the second stitch started acting up. I knew what was coming and so it was hard to stay positive. I want the stitches back in, but I don't know what Dr. Cohen will say, but more importantly what my DH will have to say. He thinks things are great the way they are. He isn't me. I know in the grand scheme of things, my complications are minor compared to some, but to me, it is a big deal. A month a ago I had 2 beautiful breasts that I loved. My only concern was if the right breast was dropping enough. Now, I sit here with 2 breasts that I am happy about one minute and sad about the next. The scars on my areolas look messy without the stitch in. I don't mind the scars. I knew I would have scars, but they look much cleaner with the stitches in there, holding things in place. My areolas look smaller with the stitch in. I had an areola reduction, so of course, I don't like that they are bigger now. It's just all so hard to deal with, when you don't feel well. Both breasts ache off and on. I have a bruise where the stitch on the left side was removed, as well as a stitch to keep the opening closed. Wearing my normal bras are uncomfortable. I have to take them off after a couple of hours and put a sports bra on. When the muscles around my areolas contract it hurts. It's like tiny little pins and needles in there poking me. I can't help by worry that there is more to come. And to top it all off, the antibiotics make me nauseous and tired, so I feel like crap even without all of the above. I was advised to stay away from the gym for a few days, so that makes me feel bad, too. I haven't had my endorphine high since last Thursday. I'm sorry to spew all of this on you guys, but you guys are seriously the only people I can talk to about all of this and my feelings. My family and friends don't know I had a breast augmentation.

![]() | Awww darlin'. I hate this for you. And we don't react to OUR stuff based on "compared to others"---we feel and experience OUR stuff 100%. So yes, of course, it is just awful. No way around that. The fact that it gets better, and that soon you'll be back in top form, can be something you remind yourself of, while you just make it through the hard times. That's all we can do. If it can be a source of inspiration, I am sitting here with my TWO boobies feeling whole and happy and healthy. I often wondered if that would ever be the case! |

Now I have a yeast infection, after 2 rounds of antibiotics. I called the office and the girls there told me to call my PCP or GYN. I don't have a PCP and I haven't been to a GYN in over 2 years since we haven't had insurance. Guess I'll try OTC. Why would a PS office not give you an RX for a yeast infection if they know you have been on 2 rounds of antibioitics. They know why I have it. Why should I have to go to another Dr. and explain everything to get an RX?

Girl, call your PS office back and ask them specifically for a prescription of Diflucan. There is no reason why they cannot write you that script and it's much better than the OTC mess! Be firm and remind them they put you on 2 courses of antibiotics and b/c of this you have developed a yeast infection to boot and you would like for them to call in the Diflucan...you don't have to be nasty, but be firm in what you are asking for b/c you are entitled to that much and thye will know you mean business! Good luck and keep us posted. ![]() Rae

Ouch! I'm so sorry you had to go through that pain. Hoping all will be well soon. As for the yeast infection - I also asked my PS after my surgery for a prescription since I was prone to a breakout from antibiotics. Of course, they told me to go to my family doctor, and I was too doped up to insist. Whatever - I didn't get a yeast infection so I didn't need to see my doctor. But sheesh, you would think they would at least help you out in that regard.... |

OMG! DH is now upset with me because I am concerned about "cosmetic" issues. I guess I should just be happy that I have boobs for him and not be concerned what they actually look like. Can he not just let me work through all of this without being so needy????!!!!! OMG!!!!!

Sorry the dh isn't being supportive. I think sometimes our men get stressed when we get stressed and don't know really what to say. I hope everything heals up quickly for you. Your boobies will still look great!

Mary, Dr. Cohen's office manager called me today to check on me. She just wanted to make sure I was okay and healing well. I told her that when I spoke to her the other day, I was at my lowest. I apologized for losing my composure and crying while I was on the phone with her. She told me not to mention it, that it just broke her heart and she was so concerned about me and wanted to make sure I was okay. She told me that Dr. Cohen doesn't know about my ordeal yet, since he is out of the country (I figured) and that he is not going to be happy that this happened while he was away. She said, "I just know he will feel so bad that he wasn't here." LOL! See why I love them so much!? I am feeling much better about it all now. I have finally pulled myself out of the depression and am mulling over my options. I'll know more when I see Dr. Cohen next Wednesday, but it's so much easier to deal with it all when you are well physically. It has been a long 2 weeks, though, that's for sure. I'm glad to be on the other side of it now. |

Its good to hear that your sounding a lot happier and that your feeling a lot better about things. You have had a difficult time I hope it just gets better for you now. Good luck with your consultation on Wednesday I hope it goes well. I will look forward to hearing how you g ot on. Im not sure if it has been mentioned in any of the threads but eating live yoghurt is very beneficial to you if your taking antibiotics or thrush treatment. The antibiotics kill off all the good bacteria as well as the bad, which is why you often get thrush after taking antibiotics. I take a Danone activia everyday it helps with bloating which Im prone to, it seems to have made a hugh difference to me. Good luck once again and have a nice weekend Take care Sue x |
