has anyone started bottoming out after 1.5 years

Hi girls.....

My right breast was the slower one to heal and always seem to be a little tighter. Now I am worried that my left one might be bottoming out. Is this possible after so long or is my right one just tighter. I actually like my left one better...looks more natural as if it has a little weight to it but am worried that this is the beginning of bottoming out. I saw the PS a month ago for a check up on my TT revision and he said that they still looked great and I was probably a different sizes before the breast augmentation. This is probably true but I think it has relaxed some more since then. It does not look bad except that my right one is "tighter". They both look fine to me just different. What do you girls think? I plan on calling the ps tomorrow since I have to have another check up anyway.
Thanks for alway being here even if we come and go......

I'd say it def is possible (friend of mine is def bottoming out after 4 years, but isn't ready to do anything about it just yet), but maybe your PS (who looks at boobs all day every day) can tell for sure that you are merely just diff't sizes vs. bottoming out.
I guess I'd "keep an eye on it", and maybe keep a tape measure handy to measure it every couple days from crease to nip and then you'd at least have some idea if anything is really going on. Keep a logbook handy for this task, maybe in your bathroom drawer so you can look & measure at night or something.

Thanks Good advice....better than me just starring at it and wondering if anything changes. I have me check up on the 20th, so he should be able to hopefully set my mind at ease.

thanks so much

i think basically ANY complication can happen at any time. UGH! I would recommend also taking pics every couple days so you can watch yourself progressively. that is what i'm doing and am really glad i've done it. i sure hope you're just experiencing more changes, which i believe the whole life of the implant. keep us posted.

I'm no where near 1 1/2 yrs yet (I'm 1/2 yr.) But mine, too, don't match up. My right breast is looser and lower and feels much less supported under my crease. My left moves in the pocket ok, but not as much as the right one and has a much more defined crease. I am definitely keeping watch and keeping a photographic record of changes. If I stay like this, fine, but if it gets worse, I know there will be a revision in my future. I suggest you keep a close watch on yours. Take photos. They are much more revealing than looking in a mirror. It is also a printed record that you can show your PS.

WE know our bodies better than any doctor. We know if something is not right. Listen to your own intuition and take whatever steps you need to make it right. Good luck! Keep us posted, if you can. We boobie sisters have to stick together.

Hi Brandy...sorry it took me so long to read your thread.

A sure sign of bottoming out is when your nipple starts pointing upwards, and you end up with more boob underneath instead of the nipple being centered on the boob....do you notice anything like that? I sure hope this isn't happening to you.....I would say it's possible you could bottom out that long after surgery, I was only 5 months when it happened to me, but my ps said, it could have happenend any time. As you know I'm worried it may happen again, but that's always a possibility anyways, so I'm really going to just enjoy them while I can

I hope you're appt. goes well, and you hear some good news from your ps! Please keep us posted. Do you have any recent pics in your yahoo group?

What did you have done to correct the bottoming out? I'm five months as well and just noticing my left side bottoming out.

not sure if you were asking me, but since i've had a revision, i would be happy to share. My ps wouldn't touch me until i was at my one year post op mark....it was to give my body time to heal, and allow scar tissue to build up at the crease line so he would have something to attach the permanent sutures to.
He didn't take my implants out, he just worked around them and put in the sutures and did a capsulorphemy(sp?)....I have no idea what that means though, sorry. Anyways, he raised my crease line back to where it should be, and my girls looked better with my nipple being centered on my boobs once again...it also gave me back that upper pole fullness i had lost when i bottomed out ( I love my upper pole!) I have to wear a very supportive underwire for a while until i heal, but i'm so glad i had the revision....it made a huge difference

AmericanGirl is an unknown quantity at this point
Today I'm learning a LOT on here about bottoming out. Got to admit this is making me nervous but your post, Vanessa, that it was corrected without having to take the implant ou, makes me feel better.

I am guessing that bottoming out is not noticeable with clothing on. Am I right? Or?

I was nervous before but the more I'm learning about the risks of complications.....

you're right, it was not noticeable with clothing on....even in bathing suits i looked fine and no one would know anything was wrong. The only thing that really bothered me was the fact that my nipples were so high up my breast mound, they wanted to peek out the tops of my bathing suits and bras....soooo i did have to be careful about wearing certain low cut tops for fear my nipple would make an appearance!

I"m certainly not meaning to scare you by talking about bottoming out...i just try to respond on the subject when someone asks about it. I honestly never thought i would ever have a complication, but i'm still glad i had a breast augmentation and would do it again. Just do all your reasearch, study all the complications, and be prepared in the event it does happen. There are risks, but I think the chances of something happening are still small. Good luck to you..
